Washington Conference Pathfinder Preaches with "Courage."

Paige Burghart, 14, returned from the international Pathfinder camporee inspired to take a stand for God.

She talked with her pastors, David Glenn and Ryan Wilson, and said that she wanted to have the “courage to stand” and give a sermon.

With a little coaching from her pastors, Burghart developed a sermon about the importance of praying for all young people, not just the ones who aren’t coming to church anymore.

“The youth in our church really want to be prayed for,” Burghart says. “I heard many comments from adults and teens alike while writing [my sermon] that prayer really is an essential ingredient in our church.”

North American Division Evangelism Institute Resource Center Book of the Month

You know them: friends and coworkers, family members you love. They aren't interested in the Bible or Jesus. Period.

In Engaging the Closed Minded, Author Dan Story tackles one of the most difficult problems you may ever face in sharing your faith – engaging minds that are tightly closed against the good news of Jesus Christ.

Tough situations like these require insight into the thinking and attitudes of people who have shut themselves off from the truth. Engaging the Closed Minded not only provides principles that work, but shows how to use them in real-life conversations and situations.

Engaging the Closed Minded is available from the North American Division Evangelism Institute.
